GOPBC Officers

Stephanie Kieszak-Holloway, president

Stephanie Kieszak-Holloway is a founding member and president of the GOPBC. She is also the wife of GOPBC Vice-President, Richard Holloway. Stephanie and Richard formed the GOPBC along with the third founding member, Deirdre Watkins at the 2004 NFB of Georgia State Convention in the Fall of that year in Savannah Georgia.

Stephanie is a jack-of-all-trades for the GOPBC. She is involved in virtually every aspect of the organization, coordinating and scheduling group events and fielding questions and assisting members and potential members at every opportunity. When she's not busy with GOPBC matters, dealing with her own family, or working her "day job", she can probably be found working on something for the National Organization of Parents of Blind Children, the GOPBC's national affiliate. Stephanie has been a member of the NOPBC's Board of Directors since 2006.

Stephanie has two children, ages 6 & 2-1/2 as well as a step-daughter, age 14. She has been married to her husband, Richard since January 2000.

Professionally, Stephanie is a Biostatistician for the the CDC in Atlanta where she has worked for the past 12 years.

Richard Holloway, vice-president

Richard Holloway is also a founding member and past Secretary of the GOPBC. He is currently serving as Vice-President. He is the husband of GOPBC President, Stephanie Kieszak-Holloway. Richard and Stephanie formed the GOPBC along with the third founding member, Deirdre Watkins at the 2004 NFB of Georgia State Meeting in the Fall of that year. (Deirdre has also served as both Vice-President and Secretary of the GOPBC.)

Richard is the GOPBC Webmaster and his primary GOPBC focus is typically the web site and various technical aspects of GOPBC matters from preparing various signs and banners for group functions to video recording (and editing) GOPBC events as appropriate. He's also learning about a good deal about technology related to computer-related blindness matters. It is a slow process, but look for some information to be posted on this site over the months to come relating to subjects like using JAWS, printing to braille embossers, operating PACMates and things like that.

Richard and Stephanie have been married since January 2000. Richard has three children, ages 14, 6, and 2-1/2 as of this writing (fall 2008). Richard & Stephanie live in DeKalb county his children currently attend school in DeKalb county public schools. His older & younger child are typically sighted while Kendra (age 6) has no vision or light perception.

Professionally, Richard has worn a number of hats over the years but most of them have related to areas of technical production. Richard is an audio specialist, formally trained as a recording engineer. He has also worked as a professional photographer and videographer as well as a print production manager for various companies including Gannett , managing a digital production department at a USA Today print facility in Atlanta.
