Atlanta Symphony Event |
Symphony Hall, December 2006 |
On December 19, 2006 members of the GOPBC were invited to a special visit with members of the Atlanta Symphony. Quite a few of our members were able to participate, enjoying the chance to listen to part of a symphony rehearsal followed by a special opportunity for our children to meet and spend time with professional symphony musicians.
GOPBC children who attended enjoyed one-on-one demonstrations of many different kinds of instruments. Children moved about the stage and met each of the musicians, in many cases also getting to touch (and where possible, even play) many of the different instruments. It was a great chance to listen to and learn about the many sounds of an orchestra.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for coordinating this special event for our children!
